BOOKING PERIODS
Video tapes may be checked out for 10 days.
Since video tapes are normally delivered (through district mail) prior to the booking date and returned (through district mail) on the day following, schools actually have access to a video for a period ranging from three to four days. Additional viewing time is gained if the school wishes to pick up and (or) return the video to the Resource Center.

CARE OF MATERIALS
The cost of repairing or replacing damaged materials is applied against the instructional supply budget of the school responsible for damage. Since these costs reduce the money available for purchase of new materials, teachers need to exert care in using materials properly.

STUDENTS/PARAEDUCATORS/STUDENT TEACHERS
When teachers use students/paraeducators/student teachers to operate equipment, great care should be taken to assure their competence in handling materials and operating equipment.

CAUTIONS
Most damage to equipment is a result of improper use or a faulty mechanical condition. If any problem occurs after starting the equipment, it should be turned off IMMEDIATELY. Continuing to run equipment in the hope that the problem "will work itself out" is an expensive mistake. Damaged or broken video tapes should be returned to the Resource Center immediately with a note indicating the damage.

By observing the cautions mentioned above, schools will benefit from a minimizing of expenditures for repairs, replacements, and materials "off-time" which may keep materials out of circulation.
